Sorry I've been AWOL from the level for the past few weeks, but I've been outta town.
Anyway, I'm the commissioner for a sportsline.com league, and we're doing an online draft for the first time. When you do an online draft through sportsline, can you make trades during the draft? In other words, can Team A trade pick #1 to Team B for picks #8 and #20? Is there a way for the commissioner to make this happen easily?
Secondly, at home I have one of those archaic dialup connections. If I do the live draft on a dialup connection, is that going to cause a problem in some way (aside from the reliability of the phone line)? I'm assuming that this won't be an issue because I'm guessing that the draft uses a real time applet that shouldn't need a high speed connection. As the commissioner, I don't want to have any problems keeping up with the draft, but I'd like to avoid going into the office to use the computer on my one day off.
Thanks for any help you guys can provide.

I have done a number of online drafts on CBS. You cannot trade picks, one of the faults of it. A dialup is not a problem. However, I recommend you CAREFULLY watch the pick clock. If you think for a second you may have lost your connections and if you pick is upcoming to close out your windor and go back in. Also, USE THE DRAFT QUEUE and maybe try to rank your players ahead of time. The Draft queue lets you line up players you want at your next pick, if available. It does not automatically take them for you unless you reconfirm but it WILL take them if you somehow lose your connection. Again, it's not altogether easy to determine if/when you lose the connection but as long as the pick clock is rolling along you should be ok. I have come VERY close to missing out on a pick and having the computer autodraft but so far through 2 baseballs and 1 football that has not happened yet.

Cripes...sounds awfully scary...the last thing I want to worry about during a draft is my freaking connection when I'm on the clock...you can try Microsoft NetMeeting (with most Windows installs) or get your whole league to demo the new Microsoft LiveMeeting. Make that connection, then open a chat window and make a Microsoft Excel SS as the draft board...no worries then. If the line goes down, you'll know it. As a backup, if a majority of the participants are in one place, host an Internet chat or do a speakerphone phoneline dialin with as many three way calls setup as needed to conference everyone in...
We've patched the last few fantasy drafts together with guys in four time zones and it goes off without much of a problem.

Ok, um, CBS is WAY simpler than all that. Don't take my answer the wrong way. You just need to be diligent.

Thanks for your help, Glenn. Our draft went off without a hitch. Well, a couple of times parts of my draft window would mysertiously dissappear, but I just closed it and re-opened in time.
Kalbo, any connection problems are easily solved by lining up guys in your draft queue. If you get bumped offline, the system will automatically take the highest guy in your queue (different than your overall ranking of everybody) at the end of your alotted time.
