Wildthing is right, D-sly. The Jets had it first, and uncreative Eagles fans highjacked it (for what it's worth)

Uhh, wildthing, the nickname pre-dates the commercial use of the Internet. Thus, using the existance of the site as "proof" doesn't jive. Besides, most of these nicknames are used by several teams. Heck, the Phillies had a pitcher they nicknames “Wild Thing” (circa 1993). I don’t see anyone getting uptight about you using it.

I know its not a big deal but I just wanted to know how they started to use the name gang green.
BTW: My nickname wildthing came from the movie "Major League" which came out in 1989 from the pitcher in that movie.
