I was looking through the local Courier Post today after getting an email from a buddy. it turns out some little college kid took time from his classes to write an anti-Eagle and Philadelphia letter to the editor. Below is the letter. This absolutely disgusted me.

I am writing this letter in joyful glee celebrating the loss of the Philadelphia Eagles. I am a New York Giants fan from north Jersey, but don’t get me wrong, I am no die-hard fan. After attending Rowan University in southern New Jersey and seeing what horrible human beings most Eagles fans are, I have never been so happy to see Philadelphia prove themselves once again as historical sports failures. I look on the bright side; they managed to lose three NFC Championship games in a row, two of which were at home a new NFL record.

The media is partly to blame for this loss as they hype up their beloved “Eagles Fans” supporting their destruction. This year one radio station had an ingenious promotions idea: Have listeners bash their own cars for Eagles tickets when they answered questions wrong about the station’s weekly morning show happenings. I recall last year when the same radio station actually condoned the actions of their average redneck fan by supporting the destruction of Tampa’s radio station vehicles live on Philadelphia radio stations. Not to mention they also had a contest bashing apart a car decorated in Tampa Bay Buccaneers apparel. May I ask where they come up with these ingenious promotional events that in fact make the average listener lose brain cells by the minute. Would you appreciate leaving this wonderful area of Philadelphia (AKA New York’s red-headed step-child) and having your vehicles destroyed, because you would “deserve” it? On top of it you are depriving them of what little brain cells the Eagles fans had in the first place. I found the banjo music radio stations added behind the phone calls from the Green Bay and Carolina fans this year quite hypocritical. Have you checked out the average mullet length of the typical Eagles fan? I did and it measured 8 inches. Not to mention going live on the air and calling Green Bay fans “white trash”. Have you been to Lincoln “White Trash” Field lately? That should be a monumental white trash museum or a concrete toilet bowl; the NFL has decided yet, it is still under review!!!

By even making it into the playoffs the Philadelphia Eagles did in fact do themselves a disservice. They demonstrated on national television and in newspapers what horrific and low-class fans they actually have. The asinine behavior of the average Eagles fan was already common knowledge in the Philadelphia and southern New Jersey area. Throwing batteries at Santa while booing him, rooting for injuries such that when Michael Irvin nearly broke his neck in 1999, and the courthouse built into the old Veteran’s Stadium spoke for itself. The mere fact that a courthouse has to be built into a stadium demonstrates the shamelessness of the fans. But now the organization can congratulate itself in demonstrating how moronic, mentally deficient and downright heartless its fans are. Who, in their right mind, throws batteries at Santa Claus, cheers for injuries of opposing players, and are so misbehaved that they needed a courthouse and jail in their own stadium? I am sorry but in any other city, this is not considered being a fan or even supportive of your team, but is downright disrespectful and inhumane. Only an Eagle’s fan (after figuring out how to use a computer) could write an email threatening to throw Atlanta fans off the 700 level and then breaking their necks once they reach the 200 level.

Eagle’s fans call themselves “loyal fans” and “true to their team” but I find that quite hypocritical. Was it not in the beginning of the season when the fans demanded Andy Reid to be fired when the Eagles were 0 and 2? What kind of loyalty is that? Britney Spears had more loyalty to Jason Alexander to whom she was married to for a mere 55 hours.



This year Carolina Panther fans had to be escorted into their stadium accompanied by bodyguards because they feared for their safety entering the wonderful Lincoln Financial Field. The mere fact that Tampa Tours (a tour group which takes Buccaneer fans to away games) insurance would not allow them to attend Veteran’s Stadium during last years playoffs demonstrated the socially inept behavior of Eagle’s Fans. Not to mention as well the fact that opposing players were denying members of their own families tickets to the game, fearing for their safety at Veterans stadium.

In all this I ask you one question which is why do Philadelphia Eagles fans deserve a Super Bowl Ring? The answer is that they don’t and they will never earn one. Maybe if they learn how to demonstrate some modicum of respect and behave like normal human beings they will get one. It was a nice ride and I congratulate the media and the wonderful franchise giving Eagles fans believe they had a chance to make it to the Super Bowl. You did an amazing job in teasing them and I wouldn’t be surprised if they weren’t trying to demolish one of your vehicles or buildings right now.

The battery throwing, cheering serious injuries and lots of other classless behavior by philly fans is all well documented. Live in denial all you want but these things DID happen. It should be a long time before the egirls get to stink up an nfc championship game again. They are home for the super bowl again--where they deserve to be.
