It drives me a little nuts the way the "#1 defense in the league" tag is thrown around over there.

The Skins do not have the #1 D based on YPG (Pittsburgh #1, Skins #2, Eagles #12), PTS/G (NYJ #1, Skins #6, Eagles #2), or Aikman Efficiency Rating (Pats #1, Skins #5, Eagles #4).

Furthermore, the Skins are not #1 against the rush (Pitt. #1, Skins #3) or against the pass (Tampa Bay #1, Skins #3).

Please tell me how this is the #1 defense in the league? If you acheive it at the end of one week during the regular season, you dont keep the title for the rest of the year.

This is all the fault of Skins fans as much as Eagles fans.

The Eagles have had plenty of bad seasons and bad teams, but I've never seen the vet 1/3 full with Redskins fans.

The Skins fans (not all, but enough) give up on the season as soon as it's apparent that they don't have a powerhouse team.

When an Eagles fan can buy seats below face value and have their choice of section with only a short drive down there, why wouldn't they do it?

The reason there's no respectable smack between the two fanbases is because the Redskins, since Snyder's owned them, have had progressively worse seasons. In that same period, the Eagles became a top team in the league.

In the last six games vs. the Eagles, the Skins have lost each one by an average of 17.5 points.

There's no respectable smack because the Skins are an afterthought. They've won once in the last eight games vs. the Eagles.
