Hey dudes, I just moved to Brooklyn. I'm looking for somewhere good to watch the Monday night game. And all the other games in the future. Any suggestions? I prefer smaller, dive-ish bars to big fancy chain types.

Talon, yeah I was there. The atmosphere was great. I can't make the game tomorrow night because of work but I will be there next week. I'll say hi this time. Thanks.

superbirdlover1, Shorty's on 9th Ave. bet. 4nd & 41st is a small joint, but it's not a dive bar. However, it does have killer food, including the only truly authentic cheesteaks in NYC, and it's packed with Birds fans. There's a great atmosphere in that place.

If you're looking for a lame dive bar, I'm sure you can find something in your neighborhood...unless you live in Park Slope or Williamsburg. I don't think Park Slope has dive bars (dive bars are beneath the dykes' cats), and I think Williamsburg hipsters have made watching football illegal.

LKV11G, definitely say hi next Sunday. I got a hunch that both Uber and flesh are gonna make this a regular Sunday hang.

flesh, that was contingent on The Cure concert, which has now been postponed until June.

However, we were discussing this at yesterday's tailgate, and it looks as though the Minnesota game on 10/28 is the target for a Level gathering. Hopefully, there will be something resembling a season remaining at that point. Otherwise, we'll all be rooting for the first overall pick in the draft because this team desperately needs another undersized defensive lineman.

In either case, I'm sure we're all gonna need to drink a lot by 10/28.

Winning season or not, I'm always up for cheap beer, greasy food, and eye-raping hot bartenders.

That will be the culmination of a 3 day NYC bender. Looking forward to it already.

I am out. For some reason I just don't even feel like finishing a coversation that starts like this:

GGB: "Honey, I am going out to watch football this Sunday".

Wife of GGB: "Ok, that's fine, your usual spot?"

GGB: "No, instead I think we are gonna go ahead and go up to New York City to watch with some people you've never met nor really heard of".

UGH.

Trust me, Uber, I would really, really like to go. But when you have a 6 week old you need to pick and choose carefully what campaigns you undertake and something tells me this just isn't the one...

Anyway- already tentatively set the rain date for the Giants game when they're (NYG) in Philly - i sold my tix to that game so I can go up to NYC.

Hopefully all the same guys who were "IN" for this one, can make it then and then some.

Zak, I can only assume that you asked that question just to keep tabs on me...

Therefore, I'll let you know that I'll be working during the day, probably doing laundry on Monday night, seeing a movie on Tuesday, and catching a concert on Wednesday. Would you like to know where else you won't run into me on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, as well?

Heh heh heh. Uh, yeah.

I have a rule, well not really, but if I vomit more than twice and get less than 2 hours sleep the night before (and not much more the previous night) it's a good chance I won't be meeting you at a bar even if Trey is playing a set at halftime.

Bachelor party weekend, China trip last week, I am in hell today.

Does anyone know if Shorty's or somewhere else in nyc will be a good Giants fan free place to watch the super bowl?
