Are you looking for a date to take to training camp. If so, let me be the first to point out the approximately 973:2 guy:girl ratio here.

but of course
historically, I have encountered massive difficulties roping an escort--even when I supply the cash & liquor
It's quite sad, really
Actually, I was wondering if a date for a training camp tailgate had entered anyone's mind.
Then I got stuck in Boston...and forgot. Validating my blondness in the process.

Usually we go the first weekend of training camp, but last year there would have been a poor showing so we went the second weekend.
And I'm sure Freddie Mitchell would be willing to show you around.

talked with Dean o about this yesterday- rookies report MID WK this season, the 1st wknd would be MOBBED b/c the vets are there ( READ: T.O Mania ).
What are the chances of a day off for everyone say on a Thurs or Fri>?
Otherwise, we go on a wknd in early August and just deploy the "local" troops early to secure a good camp site by the picnic tables and some shade.

Only one day off?
That's when I'm taking vacation. Deciding which week I want.
TO Mania? I'm trying to get my last four ssn digits changed to 5281.

I can do that. Once I get past July 30th, I'm less work constricted. July is hell month for me.
Seth, you know where I am.

Second weekend is Aug 7-8? If that's the date, I think I can make that one.
Can't make the first weekend b/c of work, guess that's a good thing.

When does training camp open?
We might want to try for 2 tailgates this year, since I think a lot of us might miss the first one. I should be back around mid-August and would willingly join a crack squad of the area's top drinkers for a tailgating mission.

Camp Schedule
From the official site:
The three days of practices for rookies and selected veterans (July 28-30) are open to the public.
On Saturday, July 31, the entire 2004 Eagles squad practices for the first time at training camp. Those practices are closed to the public.
The first public practices for the entire Eagles team are on Sunday, Aug. 1. That day, the team will practice twice per day in pads.
Camp breaks on Aug. 12, one day before the Eagles begin the preseason schedule with a game at New England.
Not much time to organize a tailgate... unless Friday becomes an option.

If we want to have an alcohol-free tailgate then Sunday becomes an option (Of course people can still drink, it's just my personal policy not to booze on Sundays or during the work week)
Otherwise, Saturday August 7 is really the only day we can get together for a classic 'Level camp tailgate... You know... getting ripped between the morning and afternoon sessions to the point where we just stay at the picnic area during the afternoon session and continue to booze hoping that all we're missing is Special Teams drills.
First full practice is Sunday August 1 and camp breaks on Thursday, Aug 12... what do you want to do people?

I wanna drink and Special Teams I can live without. Especially w/alcohol. Although Special Teams may be more entertaining when you're drunk. Except the kickers. I probably wouldn't get outta my chair for kickers.
I'd bring my own damned ashtray, though.
I think Seth needs a sick day.

I'm trying to resist. It's not going well. I have the time. I could take that week off like I did last year....I already saw TO, so I'd be content in the stands w/binoculars.
I can't think of a good reason why I shouldn't. Neither can my husband. He keeps asking me if I have hotel reservations.

Checking the calendar, the 7th looks good for us. BTW, who is storing the grill?
I believe that this year we should attempt to achieve something of historic proportions; …
While entering the afternoon practice we entice one of the tipsy wives to sneak in the quarter barrel via a baby stroller. (Maybe cans might draw less attention. Keg or cans either way, we’ll make the call at the 12th hour.) What we do is wrap the brew up in a few receiving blankets and roll right through the Boscov’s tent. We can have the kid’s kinda surround the stroller while entering the field area. Kids always add to the confusion. With a few daiquiris and some AC/DC I could probably persuade Mrs. Dean-o to yell at the kids to add more realism to the plot. No one will be any more the wiser.
So, … what do ya’ think?
(Of course we could always just stay back and drink without the risk.)

Bourbon in the bra. Only way to go. Works like a charm.
The crap they make bras out of anymore, you could hide WMDs in there and nobody'd know.
Water filled, air filled, oil filled.
I just wear one two sizes up with bourbon in ziplocks. BFD. Some minimum wage dufus wants to frisk me, he'll have to frisk all the 'aqua bra' wearing bimbettes. Minimum wage isn't enough to defend against the ACLU or that dragonlady lawyer, Glora Alred.
