Who are you, and what did you do with BD?
I fly back in from California the previous day. If i can get myself organized quickly enough, I'd be in for it.

I have been singing this team's praises all offseason!
Seriously, just trying to get a headcount for those who plan to be in attendance! Would love to meet up with a few of you guys while I'm out there.
Seth, I'm definitely going to the Giants game on the 28th. We'll coordinate on that later. Now if I can only find another "Go Giants" sign to rip up in front of those morons as I take my seat...

Good to know that there will be others in Eagle green out in da Burgh this weekend. 8-0, damn right! I'm headed out with 5 others, can't friggin wait.
Never been to Heinz field, anyone have tips/ideas on where to tailgate? Good bars to hit on Saturday & Sunday night post-game? Also, we don't have tickets yet .... could be a problem.

Well, I don't know much about sports bars in da Burgh, but the South Side has a massive amount of bars on Carson Street. You can't walk three feet without hitting another one.
If you dig good beer, the Sharp Edge in East Liberty (closer to Bloomfield and the safer area of the neighborhood) had (when I was there) the largest selection of beer on tap east of the Mississippi. They also have the largest selection of Belgians on tap, as well. Also, the Church Brewworks is a really cool and unique brewery inside of an old church. Their beer and food is really good.
And although many deride it, you should eat at Primanti Brothers at somepoint. It's definitely a Pittsburgh thing that you can't get anywhere else. Just play it smart and avoid the cheesesteak.

SILKYS in Squirrell Hill is where you go to watch a Philly Team play....it was, unsure if it is still, where all the kids from Philly would go to watch the games...Eagles every Sunday. They put the sound on for the Eagles too. Nice.
Good menu. Fun time. Eff Pirmantis....who the heck wants SLAW and FRIES on a SANDWHICH!!!?!!! Ugh.
Now "O" Fries with the patented cheese sauce? DAMN SKIPPY!

"Patented" cheese sauce? You mean whiz, my friend. No patent necessary.
O fries with cheese sauce can only be eaten after midnight (when drunk) or the early afternoon the day after (when hungover). They taste great either time, but I wouldn't think about eating them when sober.

Right. And that special ketchup they have in the same containers is unique "O ketchup" that comes from tomatoes grown organically on the "O Farm" in Original, PA?

Recommendations for Burgh bars:
1) Sharp's Edge is ok, but good selection
2) Philthy McNasty's in Station Square is good...above average food and good selection.
3) Silky's is on its last gasps. Last time I went was for the Atl playoff game. Weren't but 10 people in the whole place.
4) Buffalo Blues in Shadyside is EXCELLENT with at least 10 large screen TV's. Food is so-so, but the wings are definitely good. I usually go there to watch games and if people are going contact me through the site to pass along your email. Get there early (11:30ish is fine) since Steeler's fans can infest the place on gameday.
5) for those who don't mind going franchise the Damon's in the North Hills is decent with good drink specials
6) William Penn Tavern good # of Eagle fans there. Don't know if the food is good since I haven't eaten there. Its in Shadyside.

EAG, I'll be working in the morning (usually finish up around 1pmish) and I'll be heading to Buffalo Blues (on Highland avenue between Walnut and Centre avenues). If you are meeting up with friends tell them its across the street from the restaraunt Casbah. I should be there at 2pm at the latest.
BD and EAG, some friends and I are either going to Nakama - a japanese hibatchi (sp?) that evening or to a place called Shady Grove. The latter has decent food and a hot bartender. The former has at least three smokin' waitresses.

EAG and/or BD get ahold of me through "contact" us if Hooky doesn't mind acting as a go between.
Otherwise EAG, I'll assume that you are one of several fans wearing Birds paraphanelia if you make it to Buffalo.

Had a great trip to Pittsburgh, up until about 1:15 pm on Sunday. Very cool city and friendly fans. Was great to meet up with BD and Phrustrated Phan for some pre-game beers. Sorry about not hanging out for too long fellas, but I was distracted by the college chicks parked next to us.
Went to the Church brewworks - very cool place and good beer. Though I f-ed up and tried the cheesesteak ... terrible. Also went to a local dive called Brewskies (I think). Overall there were lots of Birds fans tailgating and inside the stadium, it was a cool scene and awesome weather. A better game would have been the capper to a great trip, but maybe next time.

Good to meet ya too Helmet! It was a beautiful day for beers and football. Well, at least I got the beers! The BD invasion of the 'burgh was a success, unfortunately the Eagles never bothered to show. I did a nice post game interview with KDKA TV, but don't remember a damn thing I said to the reporter. Got a nice Eagles cheer going in Finnagan's Wake before almost coming to blows with a a$$clown Steelers fan who refused to stop doing the "TO wing flapping" dance in my face. And later met the Chappelle Show's "Ashy Larry" and Don Tollefson at Outback. All in all, beautiful stadium, decent fans and a good time. Except for the game!
