Preliminary Training Camp dates have been released so the Annual Training Camp Tailgate is coming into view. Hoolie and Seth what day are you gonna be there!?!

Rookies and selected veterans report July 29th - the rest of the team reports August 1 with the first full squad practice scheduled for Aug 2.

Aug 6th is no good for me, my company picnic is scheduled for that day.

Excuse #2:

I'm going to be performing body guard duty for Lieberthal all summer. I'll only be able to come if he wants to see TO in the Spiderman outfit.

We've generally held it when only the rooks report, cos of crowds etc....


July 29th sounds pretty good to me. We'll all be able to get a spot, our spot, and move around inside without 16000 sweatbodies pressed against us when we enter.

I have the Clown Puncher wedding to attend in early August (a friday nt- but that wont make for a fun Saturday in the sun at Lehigh) so Im likely out the same wknd Scotty is.

Id be up for the 29th.

July 29th is a Friday - so everybody knows.

I'd be up for a long weekend beginning with a good look at the Birds new crop of rookies - especially Reggie Brown.

Shoot for the saturday- the 30th.

Guaranteed to have a better turnout.

Excuse # 3:

Dean-o clan out. Softball in Charlotte, North Carolina that week / weekend.

I have to check with Robert Smith before I can commit to anything....

As was the case last year Dean-o... you and the Dean-o clan will be missed.

It's not lookin' good for Hoolie's chili this year either. Haven't seen Green Hooligan around in a while.

Why don't we just invite Fat Bob to the frickin tailgate, then we won't have to fly off into the Lehigh Sunset for Boston at the drop of a hat?

As for Hooli- yeah, what the heck happened? I think she was gonna be in for the draft party and I havent seen her round since b4 that party planning thread.

Excuse #4: Whenever I see news coverage of the training camp, the fans look like the people in the backround at Chickie and Pete's (in need of a good scrubbing and a trip to the dentist)

Saturday would bring a bigger crowd, but it would also mean more yokels.

I'd be up for Friday or Saturday, it won't matter to me I've built up a hell of a lot of comp time so I'll be able to take off with no problem.

FYI - Rookies report July 29 (in the evening) but the first practice won't be until Saturday morning.

If you guys want to do a Friday - Aug. 5th is available and we'd get full squad too.

The 1st wknd, even on a Sat, we've never had crowd issues as there are no "stars" there.

And Notorious- you know im a "downashore" guy, but ONE SATURDAY? And the amnt of time spent IN SIDE the actual practice can be timed by a stopwatch more times than not.

Its just a really big/nice tailgate under the shade of some nice trees, by a great field to throw the ball around etc.

So then we're shooting for Saturday the 30th??? Sounds good to me..

OK, the shore does get a little "old" by that point in the summer, might be nice to break it up with a weekend.

I don't have wheels since I moved downtown, so I'd have to figure that out.

I'd be up for either weekend or a Friday if need be since I never plan that far ahead. I'm pretty sure I can swing a day off for a tailgate.

Saturday July 30th is a pretty good day in other respects too...

I already checked, the Phillies and the Reading Phils have away games that day and the Soul will be inactive... so its looking pretty good so far for Hooky's attendance this year.
